The Borderland Book: Minimalist Magazine Design

This project showcases a magazine-style book designed around provided text, using the unique setting of Brownsville, Texas, as its visual backdrop. The challenge was to transform extensive content into an aesthetically cohesive and easily digestible reading experience.

I developed a minimalistic and simplistic design language, anchored by an earthy color palette dominated by various shades of green. Key to the design is the strategic use of negative space, which not only ties the elements together but also enhances legibility and elevates the overall sophistication.

While this was a class collaboration, the final design execution was entirely catered to my personal
style, demonstrating my ability to interpret and organize a large volume of content into a beautiful, structured format.
